Today, I received the package I've been waiting to arrive -- my Missha BB Cream! I have to be honest, I was really excited when the little box from Korea arrived at my desk today. I even tweeted about it!

Anyway, I'm doing a first impression post for this one since I'm really really excited to try this product. I've been hearing reviews about it on Youtube, and I think it's about time I give in to the craze. Besides, it's only a couple of bucks on eBay, so I gave it a shot.

    First Look

I think this shade -- No. 23 -- leans towards the neutral side. I have yellow undertones and I noticed that even with Missha's darkest shade (which is No. 23), it's still a little bit light for me, and this is the whitest my skin is going to get since winter just ended. The consistency of this BB cream reminds me of the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. It's not too thick nor too heavy; it's just right. I believe I got this for $9.00 at eBay. The tube is pretty small (20ml), but since I just wanted to try it, a small tube is perfect for me.

    Quality

The main thing I like about this is its sunblock properties; it has SPF42. All I can say right now about this Missha BB cream is that it claims a lot of things. On the packaging, it says, "MISSHA M Perfect Cover B.B Cream offers a novel skincare concept with B.B cream, which lightens skin tone with healing visible wrinkles and blemishes with excellent skin-cover ability, and prevents skin aging through effective whitening and anti-wrinkle properties." As you can see, it claims almost everything; it's like a botox in a tube -- it's ridiculous! I'm not really sure if this product works as an anti-aging cream, but I will follow-up a thorough review about its other claims. It definitely lightens up my skin tone because the color is a little bit lighter than my own skin color, but I think that's the whole point of the BB creams out there -- they are supposed to make your face look whiter/lighter. The smell of this product has some familiarities (since I grew up in the Philippines). It kind of reminded me of a body lotion I used to use when I was there; the smell of this BB cream definitely leans towards the chemical-ish and maybe a little powdery scent (I don't really know how to explain it) rather than a floral or a fruity scent.

    Packaging

I have a lot to say about this: first, the packaging is really really really good. I think it is the perfect packaging for a foundation or a tinted moisturizer. It is a squeeze tube with a point tip which really helps with controlling on how much product you want to use. Also, a squeeze tube is great because it is sanitary and easy to use. You don't have to wait for the product to come out, or you don't need to open the bottle or tube to get all the product out once you've ran out. Oh, and the box, the box is just gorgeous. I know it's kind of weird since I'm not going to keep it, but when I opened my package this afternoon, I was really amazed on how elegant-looking the box it came in with. Oh well, maybe that was just me!

    Overall

I'm not really sure if I would want to recommend this product since it claims tons of things. I will not grade this product right now because I'm not sure how it will function in the future. Maybe I'll love it, maybe I won't, who knows? Right now, I'm in the middle. I will definitely do a follow-up review on this so stay tuned! :)
